Kyla Ida
I hold an M.A. degree in Forensic Psychology and am in the final stages of completing my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, working towards obtaining my Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential. I also hold a Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QHMS) certification and am trained in EMDR therapy.
I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavior issues, and I work with a broad range of clients from ages 5 to 87. While I primarily work with children and young adults, I also offer family and couples counseling. My therapeutic approach is flexible and client-centered, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and EMDR. I am always open to learning and incorporating new approaches or referring clients to other counselors if that better meets their needs.
I see clients on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 AM to 6 PM, with some availability for remote sessions during the morning and early afternoon on these days. If I am unable to see you, rest assured that Mares Cares has many other wonderful counselors and specialists who can help. We strive to make therapy accessible and convenient for everyone!
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy traveling, hiking, and exploring new places with my husband. I also love reading and listening to true crime podcasts, which keep me both informed and entertained.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and supporting you!
