A background rooted in human services from Ohio University, I hold an associate degree, and am currently completing the Bachelor of Social Work program at The Ohio State University. Certified in Chemical Dependency Counseling, I also specialize in Parenting Education and Anger Management. My therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques. I integrate mindfulness-based interventions and Solution-Focused Therapy to promote self-awareness, empower clients to change unhelpful thought patterns, and develop practical solutions to challenges. Through a collaborative and strengths-based approach, I aim to support clients in achieving their goals and enhancing overall well-being.
With over five years of dedicated service at Mares Cares, coupled with a lifetime of diverse life experiences, I bring a wealth of insight and empathy to my practice. My extensive professional background and personal journey enable me to offer holistic and compassionate support tailored to everyone’s unique needs and circumstances. Behind the scenes, I help ensure smooth billing processes. Along with the admin team we put in hard work to ensure everything runs seamlessly, allowing clients to focus on their healing journey.
I am available for in-office sessions Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Additionally, I host a weekly parenting education group on Thursdays starting at 5:00 PM. Please reach out to schedule an appointment or inquire about group participation.
I bring my kindness, expertise, and genuine care to every session. Here’s a glimpse into my world:
-
Working Mom Extraordinaire: Before I ever held the title of counselor, I was just "Mom".
-
Live Concert Enthusiast: During the summer, you can find me dancing to live music at concerts and festivals. The rhythm of the crowd and the beat of the music fuel my spirit.
-
Lover of Golf: When possible, I trade my counseling hat for a golf visor. There’s something therapeutic about rolling hills and chasing that little white ball across the green.
-
Nature Enthusiast: When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me on the back of my spouse's motorcycle, traveling the country, hiking forest trails or kayaking down paint creek. Nature rejuvenates my spirit, and I encourage clients to explore its healing power too.
-
Making Lasting Connections: Let’s chat over a cup of coffee! I believe in the magic of conversations—whether it’s about life’s struggles or the latest book you’ve read.

Remember, counseling isn’t just about sessions; it’s about building trust, fostering resilience, and embracing growth. I’m here for you, every step of the way.
Looking forward to meeting you and working together to achieve your therapeutic goals. Feel free to reach out and say hello!
