"What types of payment do you accept?"

Cash, checks, and major credit cards, all Medicaid, Anthem Insurance, and some commercial insurance depending on your coverage and the provider. *See below.

"Do you accept my insurance?"

Medicaid is accepted by all providers. In addition, commercial (employer-based) insurance is also accepted by some providers. To determine which providers are in-network with your commercial insurance plan, please call the number on the back of your insurance card or contact our Billing Team by phone at (740) 804-6828 or text at (740) 240-0665.

All Anthem Insurance Policies are accepted depending on which provider or what diagnoses. The following providers can accept Anthem insurance: Becky Smolinski, Maggie Lambert, Meghan Vinson, Chris Arredondo, and Heather Sommers.

In addition, our providers with a CDCA can also bill Anthem policies on a case-by-case basis. This includes: Talia Salyer, Jessica Warth, Stacey Cartee, and Amber Gillispie.

"What locations offer therapy for adults? For my child(ren)?"

Arch Street primarily serves children. Adults and couples are primarily seen at Delano Avenue. Dun Road serves a mix of children and adults.

"Are you a religious organization?"

While we are a secular, for-profit business, many of our clients are persons of faith and as such we are respectful of all religions and can incorporate clients’ religious beliefs into our work with clients. Also, for those seeking Christian counseling, our provider Rev. Jessica Warth may be an especially good match.

"Do you have any services for veterans?"

Yes, many of our clients are veterans. We also serve many persons in law enforcement, including police officers and corrections officers given that Chillicothe is home to the VA Medical Center and to two state prisons (Ross County Correctional Institution/RCI and Chillicothe Correctional Institution/CCI).

"Do you offer tele-health?"

All providers are capable of seeing clients virtually and/or in-person at their office in Chillicothe. Through telehealth sessions we are able to serve people throughout Ohio.

"Which provider is right for me?"

When you call or email our office to schedule an appointment our Scheduler will make an initial provider match based on the information you provide and provider availability. You and that provider will then determine whether the initial match is appropriate or if another provider within the practice may be a better fit with your needs and counseling goals.

"Will therapy impact my child’s attendance at school?"

While there are a limited number of after school appointments, many parents and children find the emotional and behavioral benefits of attending counseling during the school day outweigh the academic costs of missing a class or two monthly or bi-weekly to attend counseling. Also, it is sometimes possible to move appointment times from during school to after school as after school clients complete counseling. Alternatively, parents sometimes wait to begin counseling for an after-school appointment time to become available. Excused absences from school are provided for children attending counseling during the school day.

"Will I cry in therapy?"

Possibly, but this is generally therapeutic in-as-much as this is one way to get out (express) some of that which is hurting inside, along with journaling, relaxing breathing, positive imagery, selectively sharing with trusted family members and friends, creating music, drawing/painting and other forms of expression. Letting out and go of troubling thoughts and feelings is much of what “talk therapy” is about.

I don't know where to start my journey...

The journey typically starts by reaching out to schedule an initial appointment. Then meeting with someone for an hour to share what’s troubling you and how your provider may be able to help sort through how to make a difficult decision, get through a challenging period, take better care of oneself, etc. It all starts with a call/email/message and begins with a confidential conversation with one of our caring, professional providers.
